CEC Celebrates National Correctional Officers and Employees Week

 

West Caldwell, NJ May 20 -

The first week in May is National Correctional Officers and Employees Week and CEC Corrections facilities across the country held several events to honor the men and women that provide quality detention management services.

“I want to thank all of our staff at CEC Corrections. Your hard work and dedication providing quality and ethical services to the individuals in our care is a cornerstone of our success. Your work is challenging and I admire the skills each of you bring to the job every day,” said Mike Caltabiano, Senior Vice President of CEC Corrections.

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed Proclamation 5187 creating "National Correctional Officers' Week." The first full week in May has since been recognized as National Correctional Officers' Week to honor the work of correctional officers and correctional personnel nationwide. In 1996, Congress officially changed the name of the week to National Correctional Officers and Employees Week.
