SOUTHWESTERN ILLINOIS SUMMER CELEBRATION
West Caldwell, NJ August 31 -
Over fifty CEC staff members and their families joined together on August 22nd for the second annual CEC Southwestern Illinois Correctional Center (SWICC) picnic at Pleasant Ridge Park in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Festivities included a kid’s craft table, volleyball, frisbee, music, and most importantly a group of wonderful people having some good old fashioned fun! There was an incredible variety of barbeque foods, cakes, side dishes and a gigantic bowl of candy that the children could not get enough of throughout the afternoon. A little rain didn’t hamper spirits, the grilling, or the sounds of laughter from the children as they ran around enjoying themselves.
“We are so pleased that the second annual picnic held by the CEC staff was a huge hit,” said Andrew Young, Director of the CEC program at SWICC. “We had great attendance and all were thrilled to have a day for fellowship and families. The staff who planned the event did an outstanding job and they are excited to repeat this event into the future. A special thanks to Clerk Diane Weilmuenster and Senior Counselor Paula Butler for their generous support of the picnic!”
