Founded on the principles of evidence-based best practices, the CEC approach incorporates a wide range of correctional treatment, educational rehabilitation, and transition services tailored to residents’ needs. The treatment model follows core correctional standards of practice in all CEC programs, whether in community corrections or in-prison, and is regulated by established policies and procedures.

Treatment is delivered in a structured, safe, and secure environment and is comprised of multiple phases along a continuum of care. All treatment incorporates social learning and cognitive behavioral principles designed to promote a prosocial lifestyle with an emphasis on individual accountability, responsibility, and self-reliance. A driving force behind the treatment model is the implementation of comprehensive and consistent curricula that are evidence-based.
