CEC Oxford was constructed in 1996 and was originally designed as a transitional housing program for the homeless population. In 2006 the facility was renovated and completed as a residential facility. The program is designed to provide a support system for residents who are transitioning out of the criminal justice system and/or have been deemed appropriate for community reintegration programming while awaiting an approved home plan. The program’s supportive services include case management, employment assistance, self-help groups and education (information-based) to enhance life skills and self-sufficiency.

The program is structured around the needs of the residents, addressing individual needs based on educational level, employment preparedness/experience, general health and mental health, and family support structure. The length of stay of residents is dependent upon the residents’ success in accomplishing their individually set goals and securing an approved home plan.

CEC Oxford offers programming in an environment that is conducive to learning skills necessary for maintaining a positive lifestyle, assist in effective decision making, problem solving, conflict resolution and pro-social behaviors that support the company mission to reduce recidivism.

CEC Oxford has developed goals and objectives that are designed to provide services necessary to the success of each resident referred to the program. The program provides services that:

  1. Create and maintain an environment that offers services and positive support necessary for parolees and SIP residents in transition through community re-integration programming to become productive citizens.
  2. Assesses specific risk and needs of residents using tools such as LSI-R.
  3. Develops appropriate individualized goals to address specific treatment needs through referral to outside treatment providers.
  4. Introduces residents to cognitive and behavioral therapy to minimize and/or cope with daily stressors and life’s challenges.
  5. Encourages involvement in 12 step programs; AA, NA, GA and any other available programs that may meet the need of residents and/or family.
